Happy March, everyone! 🎉
This is Elvis (Head of Product) and Tadas (Chief Technology Officer) from Tingit 👋
We’re excited to kick off 2025 with a new way to keep you in the loop! Every month, we’ll share the latest features, improvements, and fixes to give you full visibility into our product evolution.
In this first edition, we’ll cover all the major updates from January & February - from new functionalities to behind-the-scenes optimizations improving the Tingit experience.
Let’s dive in! 🚀
2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year (Hello, AI-powered features 🤖), but our core focus remains on enhancing existing capabilities and user experience. Here’s what’s coming next:
✅ Item Submission Form Revamp – A more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
✅ AI-Powered Video/Photo Recognition – Smarter item detection for better accuracy.
✅ Repair Quote Accept/Decline Feature – A more efficient quoting workflow.
✅ Smart submission categorization - A better way of distributing items for repair.
January and February was just the beginning - more big updates are on the way!

🛡 Defensibility & Competitive Edge:
This feature has the potential to become Tingit’s key differentiator, creating a moat that competitors can’t easily replicate. By leveraging AI, we’re building a first-of-its-kind repair intelligence system that streamlines assessments at scale.
⚡️ 100x Efficiency in Repair Assessments:
Manual assessment of item conditions can be slow and inconsistent. Our AI model will automate and accelerate the process, instantly analyzing damage levels, material types, and repair complexity - cutting down human evaluation time from hours to seconds.
🔬 Untapped Industry Innovation:
Despite AI’s widespread adoption in e-commerce and logistics, no platform has applied it to repair diagnostics at scale. This presents an opportunity for Tingit to lead the category, shaping how AI integrates into the circular economy and repair tech.
💰 Scalability & Cost Efficiency:
With AI handling initial diagnostics, repair shops can focus on high-value repairs rather than spending time on assessments, significantly improving profitability and resource allocation.
This is just the beginning - our AI recognition technology will pave the way for further automation, reducing friction for both customers and service providers.
🔥 AI-powered repair intelligence is not just an enhancement - it’s a revolution.
Our goal is to make Tingit faster, smoother, and more intuitive. Here’s how January’s updates improved the platform:
We've redesigned the item submission journey to be more intuitive and user-friendly. The new flow makes it easier for customers to quickly describe their repair needs, upload images, and get matched with the right service provider - reducing drop-off rates by 28% and increasing successful repair requests by 21% compared to the previous experience.
A new visual comparison tool on our landing page, showcasing product transformations before and after using Tingit. This has led to a +35% increase in submissions!
We’ve made onboarding new service providers more seamless by integrating a real-time account syncing feature.
To expand our presence in France, we’ve added testimonials and media mentions to strengthen credibility.

With 35+ service providers onboarded and 7,500 submissions processed, manual partner assignments were becoming a bottleneck.
To scale operations, we built an automated quoting system that distributes repair requests based on category (bags, shoes, clothes, textile) to all relevant service providers.
🚀 Speed Boost: Quote processing time has been slashed from 20.83 hours to just 2.52hours - an incredible 88% reduction!
✅ Enables competitive pricing
✅ Faster turnaround times
✅ More scalability & partner engagement
✅ Same day checkout
This game-changing automation ensures a seamless experience for both customers and service providers, making Tingit smarter, faster, and more efficient. 🔥
Listening to feedback from our service partners, we’ve made major enhancements to their platform:
French artisans requested a personalized store link for repair submissions. Now, service providers can share a direct link with customers to submit items via Tingit. We already received the first submissions using this dedicated link.
We’ve launched direct messaging between service providers and customers, enabling real-time communication for faster clarifications, repair updates, and a smoother service experience. This eliminates back-and-forth emails, reducing friction and making the process more transparent and efficient.

📉 Addressing a Major Gap:
Before this feature, communication was fragmented - customers and service providers relied on slow, disjointed email exchanges for simple updates, causing unnecessary delays and frustration, even calling each other and bypassing platform.
⚡️ Immediate Impact – 200+ Messages Exchanged Already:
In just a short period, we've seen over 200 message sessions exchanged, revealing key pain points and challenges both customers and service providers face during the repair process. This real-time dialogue is providing us with critical insights into where bottlenecks exist.
🤖 The Future: AI-Powered Enhancements
With this new communication channel, we now see the huge potential for AI-driven solutions- from automated repair assessments to smart response suggestions that will streamline interactions even further. As we continue refining our AI-powered features, this messaging system will evolve into a frictionless, intelligent repair assistant that anticipates needs, reduces delays, and improves overall satisfaction.

More enhancements are on the way as we continue to optimize the service partner experience on Tingit! 🚀
As we continuously refine Tingit, we’re also running small-scale experiments to test new ideas and improve the user experience. These experiments help us validate concepts before rolling them out widely.
Here’s what we’re currently testing:
🔹 AI-Powered Quote Suggestions – Exploring machine learning models to predict repair costs based on past data and similar submissions.
Each experiment is monitored closely, and successful ones will be iterated on and expanded. More updates to follow in the coming months!
We’ve also made several UI/UX enhancements and bug fixes across the platform:
🌍 Language Fixes: Website/app language now persists after closing.
📩 Provider Notifications: Improved reliability.
🔄 Before/After Feature: Now available globally!
📱 iOS Improvements: Fixed crash issues + improved native app styling.
📱 Android Improvements: Fixed crash issues + improved native app styling.
🔑 Password Management: Added forgot password & reset functionality.
🎨 UI Enhancements: Redesigned public pages, login flow, and dropdowns.
📣 Merchant Updates: Added a banner for new features.
A huge thank you to everyone who has shared feedback, ideas, and insights! Together, we’re making Tingit better with each update.
